Investment Principles

  1. Investing for Profit

In our experience, people don’t want handouts; they want the opportunity to write their own futures. We believe that sustainable and ethical businesses are the bedrock of lasting change and to be sustainable, businesses have to be profitable.

  2. Investing for Intentional Social and Environmental Impact

There are many ethical companies that provide a social good as an unintentional by product of seeking profit. These enterprises do not fit our investment criteria for two reasons. Firstly, profit first businesses with unintentional impact are already well served by the traditional investing landscape. Secondly, if intentional impact is not hardwired into a company’s DNA, there is the risk of mission drift.

  3. Back Entrepreneurs

It is the founders and key management team that make or break a business. Even the best ideas will fail without the right leadership. Getting to know the entrepreneur is a key part of our investment process with a strong focus on character and values as well as competence..

  4. Value Added Partnerships

We look for investments where we are able to add value through our expertise and networks as well as our capital. We play an active role in the ongoing management and the strategic direction of companies we invest in.

Our Values

Modesty

We believe in the importance of modesty in how we interact with others, how we present ourselves and in compensation packages. Our directors travel economy.

Passion

We love what we do and know how lucky we are to be able to do it. We only work with investee companies who love what they do and bring passion to their work.
